Here is the second set of videos from Honda featuring the technology in the 2018 Honda Pioneer 1000 LE.
This batch of videos covers I-4WD, Hill Start Assist and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD).
The Honda Pioneer 1000 Limited Edition is loaded with great features, but the real standouts have to be ones that are part of Honda’s I-4WD system, a first for the industry. First, there’s the I-4WD System itself. Think “I” for “Intelligent” For the driver, it simplifies operation, increases drivability and optimizes traction.
Then there’s Hill Start Assist and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, all made possible by the I-4WD System.
The experience and expertise available through Honda’s automotive division gives them an advantage in developing and applying technology to the Honda UTVs. Here’s a brief video on the I-4WD system:
Overview of I-4WD, Hill Start Assist and EBD
Hill Start Assist
The Pioneer 1000 Limited Edition’s Hill Start Assist momentarily continues to apply brake pressure while you move your foot from the brake pedal to the accelerator—helping you eliminate any roll-back, and contributing to driver confidence.
During an abrupt stop, momentum causes your vehicle to tilt forward, and that reduces the braking effectiveness available to the rear wheels. The Pioneer 1000 Limited Edition’s Electronic Brake Force Distribution responds by automatically proportioning brake force. Here it is in action:
