Extreme Terrain Vehicle-maker Argo has expanded its lineup with the all-new Aurora eight-wheel series and two new Bigfoot models, the MX6 and MX8.
The amphibious Auroras have eight wheels and seat four.
Steering is made easier and smoother with a new ARGO Progressive Steering (APS) system, which is only available on the new Aurora models. The APS uses a spring element between the handlebars and the brake system to achieve a progressive, dual-rate steering system. It allows for a smoother, more rounded turn, not the squared-off turns that multi-wheeled vehicles commonly have.
The Aurora XTVs are equipped with new tires with a choice of rims in either steel off-set, steel beadlock or aluminum beadlock. The Aurora XTVs come in five different versions, in a choice of either a 30-hp liquid-cooled EFI V-twin or a 40-hp air-cooled EFI V-twin engine.
The two-seat six-wheel Bigfoot 800 MX6 and four-seat eight-wheel Bigfoot 800 MX8 are intended to conquer the deepest mud. They come with ultra-aggressive 25-inch paddle mud tires, aluminium beadlock wheels, and a Jensen sound system designed with a unique round bezel to better fit in the compact cockpit. The Bigfoot models use the 30-hp liquid-cooled V-twin.
Argo says the transmission in the Bigfoot uses complex gearing, including dual differentials on the output shafts so, when steering, the braking force is not applied to the output shafts but to a steering differential. While steering in high gear, the output shafts rotate at a 3:1 ratio, yielding smoother, gentler steering events.

ARGO is a Canadian manufacturer of amphibious all-terrain vehicles. It was founded in 1962 as Ontario Drive and Gear Limited, in Kitchener, Ontario and was later moved to New Hamburg, Ontario. Whether it is for a commercial, governmental/public sector or personal utility application, ARGOs fill the gap between recreational quads and heavy off-road equipment. ARGO will climb, crawl or swim anywhere you have to go, with the equipment and tools you need, at a cost you can afford.
