Can-Am unveiled its new four-person flagship Maverick X3 MAX on February 15, 2017 in Reno, Nevada.
“The 2017 Can-Am Maverick X3 MAX side-by-side vehicle builds upon the industry-altering advancements achieved with the two-seat Maverick X3 unveiled last year by delivering new levels of performance, handling and passenger comfort to the four-seat segment of the market,” explained Anne-Marie LaBerge, senior vice president, Global Brands, Marketing and Communications at BRP. “It positions Can-Am to meet market demands for a clear leader in the four-person sport segment and adheres to our forward-thinking approach when it comes to innovation, design and refining the consumer experience.”
The Maverick X3 MAX vehicle is based on the two-seater Maverick X3. All four seats in the Maverick X3 MAX vehicle are on the same level, giving every passenger a similar experience while seated low in the cockpit. The seats are four-way adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of passengers, and are designed to be roomy, ergonomic and comfortable.
The new four-seater has a trophy-truck-inspired four-link TTX rear suspension and recalibrated, premium FOX shocks supplying 22” (55.9 cm) of rear travel (Maverick X3 MAX X rs). Front arched A-arms provide up to 14” (35.6. cm) of ground clearance, while a full HMW (high-molecular weight) skid plate protects the underside of the vehicle. A high-rigidity chassis, made from fully welded DP980 steel, is designed for precise handling and strength.
It also has a quick-ratio steering system, next-generation Tri-Mode Dynamic Power Steering, selectable driving modes and intelligent throttle control (iTC). The Can-Am Maverick X3 MAX is powered by a 154-HP turbocharged and intercooled inline triple-cylinder Rotax ACE engine.

In the late 1990s, Can-Am designers and engineers were the first to equip ATVs with the TTI rear suspension, and, in 2002, they were also the first to offer a manufacturer-approved ATV for two people. In combining maximum power, handling, and traction, Can-Am ATVs are the choice of enthusiasts and professionals – who drive them right to the podium. With Can-Am ATVs, side-by-side vehicles, and roadsters, BRP is carrying on a long tradition of conquests. More than 30 years ago, the world discovered the Can-Am brand through revolutionary motocross bikes. BRP has since withdrawn from that market, but the Can-Am legend and winning spirit live on – with passion and exhilaration.
