Argo 2018 Xplorer Lineup

Argo’s Fun Side

The 2018 Xplorer lineup of ATVs from Argo are aimed more toward joy riding than they are for work or hunting, which is a new direction for the Canadian company.

The Xplorer ATVs from Argo include a single-rider Xplorer XR and two-up rider Xplorer XRT (the “T” is for two) that each come in a standard, an EPS, or an LE trim package. And each of those comes with either a 500cc or 1000cc engine.

The Xplorers all have pretty much the same chassis, suspension, CVT transmission, Innova tires, digital gauge dash, and linked-brake system. The 500cc versions are single-cylinder and the liter-engine model is powered by a V-twin motor.

They all have heavy-duty steel front and rear racks that have a 99-pound-front and 165-pound-rear capacity.

There’s also a vibration-damped, 2-inch towing receiver with 1300-pound towing capacity, because they can also be used for work between having fun.

The XR/XRT 500 base model has hydraulic steering, while the XR and XR 500 EPS trims have—you guessed it—EPS, as in Electric Power Steering. The LE upgraded option also power steering, in addition to a front brushguard and handlebar headlights.

Handguards are on the 1000s, along with hill-descent control and an electric-unlocking rear differential that are accessible on the handlebars, so riders don’t have to let go of the ‘bars to make a change.
