How to Break In a Drive Belt

Amery Kuhl – A CVT Engineer at Polaris Industries – explains that there are two methods to properly break in a drive belt. Kuhl is a member of a team of engineers at Polaris Industries dedicated to CVT systems and belt reliability.
The first method described in the video is to run your UTV in low gear for 5 to 10 miles using only light to moderate throttle application. The alternate method is to run in high gear for 50 miles with, again, light throttle applications. Polaris engineers say to avoid wide-open throttle for either of these procedures.
