Six years ago, the city of Newnan, Georgia proclaimed May 18th “Yamaha Day,” a day of celebration in honor of the town’s Yamaha factory. The factory currently employs 4,000 workers who produce almost all of Yamaha’s Waverunners, golf carts, ATVs and UTVs.
Here’s a look at the 19.5-square-mile town of Newnan, located about 40 miles southwest of Atlanta, and a peek into the Yamaha facility in this video put out by Yamaha in 2016.
The Rhino, which went into production at the Newnan plant in 2004, is said to be one of the first UTVs available to the public that leaned more to recreational use than for farm work. Here’s an older commercial for the Rhino.
