Veterans Day, the Ranger Country Way

Ranger Country is Polaris’ way of recognizing the people, places and causes that best represent the Ranger lifestyle. This year, Polaris wanted to find a cause that honored the men and women who protect and serve this great nation and all it has to offer.

LEEK Hunting & Mountain Preserve does this and more with the community it has created. Former United States Army Colonel Ed Fisher founded LEEK more than a decade ago as an outdoor retreat for wounded warriors and their families to use hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation as a means of rehabilitation.

With the help of the Ranger Country Heroes Hunt campaign, LEEK aims to raise $100,000 to support the expansion of Dunham Hall, which provides lodging and meeting rooms for veterans and their families.

LEEK, an award-winning 501c3 facility, is a full free-range hunting facility with wild animals in their natural environments, and 100-percent of the proceeds from the Heroes Hunt campaign will be used to expand Dunham Hall.

Polaris has donated the first $25,000 along with three new 2019 Ranger Crew XP 1000s. One of those UTVs was retro-fitted with hand paddles to assist disabled veterans and allow them to participate in hunts on the property.

To encourage interest and fuel the fundraiser, anyone who donates to this cause will have a chance to win a 2019 Ranger XP 1000. Football great and avid hunter Joe Thomas joined a group of wounded and disabled veterans in a hunt to kick-start this fundraiser.
