It is powered by a 708cc engine with dual overhead cams and fuel injection. An On-Command 4WD system allows the driver to switch to a choice of two-wheel drive, four-wheel limited slip, or four-wheel full differential lock.

The four-wheel independent suspension uses KYB ultra-long-stroke nitrogen-gas-charged piggyback shocks.
